Professor Gabrielle Casper is a surgical Gynaecologist with over 25 years experience caring for the health of women.
Having worked in Sydney’s lower North Shore for 20 years, Prof Casper is widely respected for her interest in women’s health and human rights including her advocacy work around violence against women.
Prof Casper is currently Head of Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, School of Medicine, Sydney, University of Notre Dame Australia. She presents at United Nations and WHO meetings on women’s health and human rights including violence against women and passionately continues her advocacy work. Prof. Casper is Past Chairman RANZCOG NSW State Committee and Past Chairman Department Gynaecology Mater Hospital.
Areas of Specialty
Whilst continuing to see general gynaecology patients, Prof Casper gives priority to patients referred for the following conditions:
Surgical Gynaecology
Patients requiring day-stay surgery such as LLETZ, cone biopsy, hysteroscopy dilation and curettage, excision of polyps, insertion of Mirena IUD, endometrial ablation, hysteroscopic resection of fibroids, marsupalisation of bartholins cyst/abscess, hymenectomy and Fentons procedure.
Abnormal Bleeding
Including heavy menstrual bleeding, intermenstrual bleeding, post menopausal bleeding, post coital bleeding.
Abnormal Cervical Smears
Dr Casper has been a Principal Investigator in a cervical dysplasia clinical research trial and performed up to 120 colposcopies per week.
