Prof Gabrielle Casper Gynaecologist Sydney Mater.jpg

Having worked in Sydney’s lower North Shore for 20 years, Prof Casper is widely respected for her interest in women’s health and human rights including her advocacy work around violence against women.

Prof Casper operates mainly at The Mater Hospital and at North Shore Private Hospital.

Prof Casper appreciates many patients are keen to be seen quickly following their referral to a gynaecologist. For this reason, Prof. Casper has streamlined her Gynaecology practice to be able to see patients within 2 weeks of GP referral.

Whilst continuing to see general gynaecology patients, Prof Casper gives priority to patients referred for the following conditions:

  • Abnormal Cervical Screening Tests - Prof Casper has been a Principal Investigator in a cervical dysplasia clinical research trial and has performed up to 120 colposcopies per week.

  • Abnormal bleeding - including heavy menstrual bleeding, intermenstrual bleeding, post menopausal bleeding, post coital bleeding.

  • Patients requiring Day Stay Surgery - such as LLETZ, Cone biopsy, Hysteroscopy Dilation and Curettage, Excision of polyps, Insertion of Mirena IUD, Endometrial ablation, Hysteroscopic resection of fibroids, Marsupalisation of Bartholins cyst/abscess, Hymenectomy and Fentons procedure.

Prof Casper is currently Head of Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, School of Medicine, Sydney, University of Notre Dame Australia.  She presents at United Nations and WHO meetings on women’s health and human rights including violence against women and passionately continues her advocacy work.
